So I have been thinking very hard about trying to do a F30 specifically 2013 style conversion to my 06 E90. Basically my initial concept is that the difference between the two bodies are.
Hood, bumper cover/grille assembly, lighting and side skirts. Also I assume there will be some things under the hood where the engine bay and grille area meet. So I'm 1 making sure my hypothesis is correct and 2 if this is realistically doable and if so what would be the best way to start gathering the necessary parts.
Ive done alot of vehicle conversions, mostly on older Chevy trucks or turning civics into their JDM forms. So I have complete faith in accomplishing this feat. Just this will be my first attempt on a vehicle of this criteria.
While I have your attention, I have a quick exhaust question. I recently did a search for a borla exhaust and found a complete cat-back with tips from turner motorsports. The item says it will fit a 328 but not a 325. ive done research and looked hundreds of photos both under carriages comparing the 2. And from this I found that both vehicles are identical, so why would the exhaust not fit my 325.
Can we try to stop you before you blow a lot of work and money on something that won't work, or won't look good?
Projects are cool and all, but this will definitely take more work and effort than a Chevy truck where different panels are added to the same rectangular body.
F30s are very different. You can sell the E90 and get an F30 with a little bit of saving some money, if you like the look.
