    330 ci convertible question

Hello all I have a friend selling his 02 330 ci convertible with a lil over 100k miles. I am tempted to buy it. It's in great condition. I just want to know pros and cons of ownership. I own a 01 740i so I am aware possible maintenance issues going in, just did the timing chain guides on my 7... Thanks to this incredible Forum. So now I see another opportunity to own one of these awesome cars. So to anyone who owns or has owned a 02 330ci convertible please chime in and give me your overall experience. Thanks in advance

They sometimes leak. As in, water into the car. I have no less than three leaks. One in the trunk and one above each front seat. I was told by a local shop that works on convertibles that the entire top may need to be replaced in order to be sure no leaks due to age.

Otherwise, usual E46 maintenance concerns. Fun!

I live in Oregon. I have no leaks. 303 makes a great product for keeping rubber seals in top nick.

Amazon has it. The 303 website indicates it's discontinued so order it now.

303 products are known to be good so I don't think it can hurt. Probably discontinued for lack of sales.

I used to get a single drop from the passenger side after leaving the driveway (and turning left) but haven't seen it since applying the 303 last year. I also blew out the drain holes just for good measure. The smallest of things can create a gap for water entry - a pine needle comes to mind.

303 makes really great products. Their vehicle trim preservation / restoration UV protection products are some of the best available on the market.
