    A/C Problem

I have a 2014 528i, and when driving today, I heard a sound, and shortly thereafter the vents were blowing hot air. There are no lights on the dash indicating a problem, and I was not running hot. Belt is fine.

Your car is a rolling computer, and you're going to need to take it to a BMW specialist shop with the appropriate BMW specific diagnostic computer, to read the codes in the ~50 computers of your car.

Most likely, they're also going to need a professional air conditioning machine, to evacuate your a/c system, vacuum-test it, and refill with exactly the correct amount of refrigerant. It's quite likely that your a/c system has just had a major failure.

In example, my boss just bought a 2013 X5, was driving it home from the auction, cool as a cucumber....and the a/c stopped working. There was a code in the Junction Box Electronics for the compressor clutch...no codes in the A/C computer. With precise filling, and after clearing codes, the compressor still would not spin. Tested the hot wire to the compressor, engine running, a/c on, and it had 14 volts. Therefore, the compressor is bad.

This is not to say your compressor is bad. It just says you can't diagnose this without a professional BMW shop laying hands on your car.
