I was just thinking how nice it looks. If I had it, I'd take those wheels off and maybe get rid of the decals, but the rest seems like it'd be a comfortable E23. I give up....What's a whore car? I'm just an old guy, so I don't get it. You mean like a car a pimp would drive?

Maybe a set of Alpina 17 inch wheels, maybe a bare metal paint job darker than my bronzitbeige, like the salmon silver I always liked, get rid of that steering wheel and find an OEM wheel, recovered correctly and do whatever is needed to make it a quiet car. It probably has some sort of sporty exhaust and I'd dump that for factory boxes. I'd love to make that a project and add it to my E32, but they're asking so much money for it. Plus the shipping from the UK. It cost me 350 pounds UPS to ship my Alpina wheels a little over three years ago insured from Sheffield in the UK. They came off of a B10 Bi-Turbo. But seems this pricing is way out of my ballpark.

    Interesting thoughts.

Get the car and throw me the wheels, my car is screaming out for those wheels.

As for the exhaust, I have a euro exhaust with headers and it is the best sounding straight six I have heard. I like to roll down the back windows when going under an overpass and just listen to the car. Sounds great. not too loud but unique for sure. And it came with the 5-speed.

I do believe these cars, the good ones are going up in value but that price is a bit steep.

I remember back in the day when I felt like that. I think my feelings come with age. At 70 now, I like my 7's to be quiet, sedate and perfect. I don't like sparkly shine any longer. I've been keeping them like that since 1983. But I do remember back when I loved the growl. Before I enlisted in the service in 67, for a year I had an Olds 442 with an incredible sound (although it was stock), and when I was discharged in 73, I bought a used Mercury Cougar with a 390 and what they called glass packs. At 23 I was cruising the streets of Brooklyn with a great sounding car. But today, chilling out in Florida, I love firing up my E32, and hearing it sound just like it did when I drove it off the lot in Feb of 1990. My 33 year old daughter just bought a Hyundai Genesis coupe. That car has a beautiful stock growl. Either way, this guy is asking a fortune for his E23. He'll probably sell in on the other side of the pond. I don't think anybody is going to spend to ship it back here.

I guess I have a few years to enjoy it then. Just different. Not loud otherwise I wouldn't be wanting to turn the stereo down and open the windows. Just meaningful.
But I understand about a quiet car. There has been so much aero/audible noise improvements on these cars that the 80s BMW sound like trucks inside compared to a new one.

Interesting that you dislike the steering wheel, I have the same one in my E23 and I love it, although it does block the top of the gauges a bit

Buy it and sell me the steering wheel. I would absolutely love having the M1 wheel in my 745i.

Actually I didn't mean to say I disliked the steering wheel. There are lot of things on that car that I like. I was trying to make a point, that I'd enjoy that E23 more if it were the color of my choice and completely stock. I was saying that I miss my E23 5 speed that I sold to the salesman when I bought my E32 in 1990 that I'm driving today. That 733I 5 speed was my favorite car. Although those seats are not stock, they really look comfortable. In the almost 8 years I had my E23 the only real problem I had with it were the sunroof drains. No matter how many times they were blown out by the dealer, after a few months I still ended up with a puddle of water on the drivers side floor. Like the thing was haunted.
