    You’re welcome to drop by. We’re pretty close to firing it up. Ceramic coating had runs it in so they had to start over. With any luck next week it will be final assembled and moving with it’s own power.

    Why did I change from CF supercharger (Vortech V2 H/D Ti) to a turbo system? I don't wrench and I finally met a real auto engineer, and not a self serving mechanic who does not know what an engineer really does. So, going back to my Vortech based system, I always loved turbos, but could not justify the cost. Frankly, I got tired of having a small "sweet spot" near redline, to get to my max hp. hen I first talked with Zack, I just wanted someone to tune my BMW, nothing more, and nothing less. Right away I knew I found a sincere, smart and passionate geared and auto engineer. Zack did not try and sell me a turbo system. WE discussed my future plan and what I want in my week-end car. He had me with, "I cam promise you I cam build a awesome turbo system for your E34 and stay within a round, reasonable price. Enough said. I am sorry many warned me about Osh/RMS, and I went to him because I just love the design of his aftercooler. Believe me, I did not want Osh to tune my car, but he was persistent in (con)wincing me he was capable in tuning all cars. Most importantly, I want to thank the Bimmerforum community for introducing me to Zack and his shop, 22RPD Tuning. This is not paid advertisement for 22RPD Tuning.

    If this is herrubermensch form M5Board, you are most welcome here. I have always respected and admired your passion and drive for the 8 cylinder BMW's (cough-cough) even though The FI M62 is also a fine complement to the S62. I even installed a S62 crankshaft in my M62 and built it with JE pistons and Arrow rods to S62 spec's.

    Hi Jimmy! Yes, it's me. Thank you for your comments. I was really fortunate to partner with Dusty about four years ago now to form Partee Racing and The S62 and S54 Shops at Virginia International Raceway and build the engines I love the right way. We build everything from sleeved FI S62 monsters to NA Daytona Prototype S62 race engines. That and racing are just about the most fun I have had with my clothes on.

    Can't wait to see your turbo build materialize. Looks like you are in very good hands, and moving to a standalone is something I did many years ago and have never looked back (Motec).

    Hey guys, we are just turning in for the evening. I took a couple pictures to show you all the current status. Running on minimal sleep so forgive the sentence structure below.

    The car is on the ground, we need to pickup new belts, fluids, filters, along with the final order arriving tomorrow.

    We spent the better part of a week cleaning up the wiring in this car, we found wires with half a dozen splices in them. Wires with poor soldering, and dozens of other wires that are cut, torn or otherwise mutilated. Wiring was an incredibly long road but I'm hopeful we have sorted through the worst of it.

    We spent some time developing a few bespoke parts to help really finish the build and these are in manufacturing as we speak.

    With some luck the car will be completed and we will be breaking in the motor Friday.

    Looks great! What is the benefit of having a larger down pipe then necking it down to a smaller one 12" off the turbo?

    FWIW I was able to get a 4" all the way to the rear bumper, though m50 vs m60.
