Seatbelt not retracting

Hi all,

Would anyone have any tricks for getting the seatbelts to retract properly?
Especially the ones in the backseat have gone bad and hardly retract.
I took the C-pillars off today to take a look, and they are looking ok. Plastic guiding clip is seated properly etc.
Any ideas? Thanks for reading.

Well I can tell you what NOT to do. Don’t go gettin’ all curious and start taking things apart.

Thanks. I actually remembered reading that thread and it convinced me to check online prior to fooling around with that thing

YOLO it and pop that cover off. It'll probably work fine this time.














If there aren't any external obstructions, the springs have probably just gone soft. Not really sure what to do to fix that aside from replacement.

I like to live dangerously, but that might be a bridge too far

I'll probably the easy way on this one and replace them in that case. Thanks!
