Has anyone relocated their power steering reservoir? It's difficult to check and fill with all the stuff in the way.
It’s not easy but I can reach it. Not worth relocating. With continual PS hose leaks in my E39 I won’t bother messing with it in my M3.
I have a big MAF/CAE and 3.2 manifold. It's very difficult.
There are after market power steering reservoir products. Chasebays makes a nice one. They have reservoir hangers that allow you to change the location. Their system uses custom AN lines so you may have to change some of the hose lengths. It would not be a small task to do this right but certainly doable.
If you want easy access you pretty much have to just take out your CAI. Then it's a piece of cake. In theory you shouldn't really ever need to check it unless you have a leak. If you're gonna replace the reservoir/hoses and refill it, it's not a big deal to just get stuff out of the way for that project. When I was filling mine and bleeding the air out I just had my air filter on loosely without the rest of the CAI box so I could run the engine in order to engage the PS pump and move the rack from lock to lock. I used a big syringe with some plastic tubing to get the ATF into the reservoir without making a mess.

The Chase Bays stuff is really nice. Not necessary, but nice. If I had known about it when I was doing my big overhaul I may have spring for their aluminum reservoir and steel lines.

I realize these should probably be replaced every 5 x years....I use the same large funnel to fill. When I start noticing a leak, again which is about 5 x years, I just replace it and move on.
