Thanks for the info on the differential. Right now I'm just looking at options. Would still rather add one more gear. A 6-speed that could handle the torque.

Now onto a slightly different problem. 3 1/2 years ago I had the body work done and painted. The shop was only supposed to roll the rear lips. Instead they rolled and stretch them. I never liked the way it looked. Mostly because I always loved the factory lines on the E36. And I've noticed they did not do it right. There's quite a bit of Bondo, and rust under it. I've been searching for a while trying to find new replacement wheel well arches. I can only find one's for the four-door sedan. Could I use those on my Coupe? I only need the upper half on both sides.

You can go with 330 or hardmotorsports fender flares

I did look at those, but I still prefer the stock bodylines.

Getrag 420G from an E46M3. Get an SMG version for less and use a chassis mounted shifter. Bolts right up, but different input splines does different clutch. Rare Euro E36M3 version has the same splines and is direct fit. OD is 18% reduction, I think.
GS6-53 from 07-10 135/335/535. Rated 25% higher torque than 420G. May require adapter plate plus flywheel, clutch, etc. OD is minimal 13% reduction..
T56 Magnum. Expensive. Require custom bell housing, flywheel, etc. Rated 25% higher torque than GS6-53. Different gear spacing that probably suits a short diff. Don’t know 6th ratio.
Samsonas. Very expensive. Rated higher torque than T56 Magnum. Probably a variety of gear options.
You don’t need a kit for the 420G.
22RPD makes a kit for the GS6-53.
There are no kits for the T56, but one company does sell a bell housing.
I happen to have scooped a descent little M62/M90 blower off a 3.8L buick I had dragged off my property. I am considering slapping it on the E36.

Zack came up with a combination of the front half of one stock shaft and the rear of another to fit his GS6-53 kit with a 188mm diff. That combination probably can’t handle a drag strip with big power. But he apparently did highway pulls on street tires with close to 1000 rwhp.

Interest on a Very Budget Supercharger Build??
Bump. Dropped of my car at Keith’s for an install of the same kit that’s on his car(intake manifold is slightly different.
Keith’s car was a blast . Instant boosts.
Here’s a link to my build thread . https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...H-SC-Kit-Build

We can easily quote Samsonas and go over details. 6 speed H Pattern is $7.6k in total (gearbox, shifter, input shaft, adapter plate for bell housing). Lots of gear ratios, forged steel gears, 83 lbs, 1500hp, assembled ready to go, universal rwd application. Email inga@samsonas.com for quick quotes (or message on FB “Fercomp Samsonas”). I’ll be happy to send pics, details and answer questions.

Samsonas makes kits ($5k to $6.5k), but best option is the H Pattern Gearbox already built with solid casing. (Inga@samsonas.com)

It's been awhile so I figure I would do another update. Car has been running good. I recently installed the rally Road oil cooler cap, and oil cooler.
For the last year I've been having problems with the custom exhaust I had put on. Firstly front pipe, was bent wrong and hitting the floor. Paid another shop to remake those. About six months after install, I heard a rattling noise in the muffler. It was a Flowmaster Super 70 series, 2 by 2.25 In-N-Out. Found out one of the baffles inside broke loose. Apparently Flowmasters are not as good as they used to be. After adding it all up, I realized I spent more on this custom exhaust, then what it would have cost to buy a Super Sprint and be done with it.
I ordered the Raceland headers, supersprint resonator mid pipe, and Scorpion rear section. Receive the headers in about a week. Took over a month for the other pieces to arrive. I thought once everything was here, I would be all set to install. Honestly not looking forward to putting on the new headers. They are a real pain. Then I realized that none of the parts came with the exhaust Donuts, that go between the mid pipe and the rear section. And because these pipes are 60 mm, larger than stock, that I have to use different ones. So far no luck finding which ones fit, or part numbers. Tried some local parts stores, even import shops, and two exhaust shops. No luck. Called ECS, since that's where I bought the exhaust, they have to look into it. I have a bad feeling , this is going to take another month or so.
I know I can get some stainless filler rod, and TIG weld it together. But I really rather not do it that way.
Does anybody have any part numbers, or any place I can buy these Donuts for the supersprint 60 mm pipe?

Thanks., I will look into that.

I just used other 3 bolt flanges and welded themm on front and back. My entire exhaust is 3 bolt flage, with the same cheap gaskets, never have to worry about jack squat.

Sorry about spelling. Ive been getting used to OT edicate.
Need a flange on one side as well to fit Euro SS mid to Euro SS rear. All E46M3 parts.
Flange? Check

A flange designed to hold the donut is better than a cheap flat aftermarket flange.
Yes exactly. Hard part is finding the right size Donuts. The pipes are 60 mm od

Bimmer World had the E46 M3 Donuts, listed as 57 mm ID

The one flange and two donuts you want are the E46 M3 ones. One donut is smaller than their other I think because the pipe on that side slips inside. Look up Euro E36 M3 and E46 M3 in real oem and I think you will see they are the same part numbers. I did this over 10 years ago so my memory may not be perfect.
Yep you were absolutely right. I installed the Raceland headers, supersprint mid pipe with resonators, and Scorpion rear section. It has a nice deep tone, and fairly quiet at idle as well as steady Throttle Down the Road. Makes a little bit of noise, at wide open throttle and high RPMs. Which is exactly what I was looking for.
