2003 330CI E46 convertible top won't reach the windshield

My 2003 E46 330CI convertible is having top issues, the flap will not unlock electricly , I can unlock it manually under the back seat, and then the top operates normally going down, the flap opens, the top folds into the back, the flap closes, but does not lock, again I can lock it manually, at the flap motor. I can make the flap motor lock the flap by pressing the trunk release. When the top comes up things go as they should, except the top does not quite reach the windshield, so does not lock on the windshield.
I have gone into the wiring harness over the drivers side, but find not broken wires.

You really need to read the CVM Codes to even begin diagnosing. You can't guess what's wrong on these roofs.
