    Rear window

So I’m trying to narrow down what is the cause of my non functioning rear driver window. All windows work except that one. I’ve switched relay switch and can hear them activating when hitting button. I’ve also pulled the module and didn’t noticed and damage as seen in others. My next thinking is the motor, so I’ve pull the panel and check to see if it’s getting power when hitting the button. That seems good as the wider of the 2 plugs lights up when hitting the button and stays on when autodown. My only question before replacing the motor would be is what the second smaller plug that seems to be dead when hitting the window button do?

Had the same problem here on a 91 J-spec. Replaced relay module (RM1) in drivers side door sill and problem solved.

So you think even though it’s getting power to the motor it’s still the relay module? Does the smaller plug come from the RM1? I pulled the module and it looked clean.

So did the one we removed from the car. But the replacement one fixed the problem. we had also replaced the window switch with no change. IIRC we could hear the rear window motor click but it wouldn't go down until RM was replaced. That was months ago and all is still well. Is that the cure for your specific issue? No idea, just passing on what we found but replacing with a known good one would either confirm that was the problem or eliminate it as the cause.

Thanks wuffer! I will start with the relay module first.

Everybody has their own opinions and history of fixes. Wuffer is knowledgeable and has a wealth of information, but.. if you are guessing, always start by replacing the least expensive part first and then move on to the next. You could have something as inexpensive as a bad connection. Go slow, these cars car get very expensive if you just start throwing parts at it. Just my two cents.

Yep turned out to be the motor. I dismantled the other side to see if the live electric signals were the same on both sides so figured it had to be the motor. Order a used one and worked just fine.
