Would like to know the best clear adhesive to use. Tried a clear silicone glue but it wouldn’t adhere.

Very common issue. The trim becomes warped over time and separates from the windshield frame at the header corners. It's not attached with glue from the factory and is a pressed fit along the channel. The part is NLA from BMW so your best option is to apply some light heat and bend slightly back into position.
Well, tried first in my workbench wood vice straightened with a hair dryer until too hot to touch; didn’t work.
Next tried reattached to pillar with extension pole with hair dryer and still no go even after leaving pole pressed overnight.
Maybe I need a new one.
Too bad as this baby only has 19k miles, always garaged, original pristine top, etc.

Wow. Didnt know there were any left with miles so low. I had moderate success removing the trim from the car and bending close the metal channel on a bench vise with a cloth cushion to protect it. This allows it to grip the pinch weld in the car better. Unfortunately too much heat will melt it. And you can’t get the part new from BMW anymore. I tried.
