My wipers had seized during the recent heatwave so I lubed the hell out of them following Timm's write-up, however now they're moving up to park since un-seizing, and there's a horrible clunk every now and again too. I've included a couple of vids so any input or advice would be gratefully received. There's a few posts about wipers on here but not quite like this.
If I had a penny for everytime someone commented on my poor fuel economy, I'd have enough to get it to the petrol station.
Is the Left vid the before and the Right after the lubing?
The clunk in the Right vid doesn't sound normal. Almost like something is loose/broken/worn out/out of alignment in the mechanism. Probably would be good to remove the wiper assembly and investigate. Instructions are in the Repair Manual. The blower motor will need to come out.
They're both after lubing, I think they had just loosened up a bit by the 2nd vid. Yeah I think you're right and it'll all need removing for a proper check. Fun fun!

Any more on the fix for this? We had our first rain of the season and my wipers worked fine. No noises or clunks. They are just doing the inverse parking like you mentioned.

Haven't hada chance to look yet. Strangely, if the wipers aren continuously for a while with heavy rain they seat properly when switched off. Then when used the next day they go back to not seating properly.

Makes me cringe whenever I see wipers being run across a dry screen like that.
