Ha! I will be adding some background and more photos soon! I was just in a hurry and wanted to get a few of the first photos up!

PVC pipe comes in handy! Somewhere way down on the list of things to fix are the hood struts.

Hahaha, just jabbin' ya. I have done that before too.

Looks like you have a trans fault lamp illuminated...car only have third and reverse?

Late 85 to early 86 car I assume? You have all the updated HVAC stuff, good base.

Correct, it’s currently in limp mode and I have not gone through the processes of elimination to determine what is causing it.

It currently will not start (starter is to blame based on not able to jump via pin 11 and 14). Getting ready to pull the starter out and bench test it before ordering a Bosch replacement.

Once that is rolling I’m eager to take it to emissions testing and get it to pass. Purchased with rearward muffler in trunk and the forward muffler dangling by the rubber hangars a couple days later. Passed everything except NOx levels by .02 grams/mile with a cat back straight pipe. Assuming I can go earlier in the day with fresh oil and get it to pass that state req.

It is a 5/86 stamped car.

Do the B35 starter and install block studs while in there. I have a write up floating around on here somewhere. SR441X I think is the part number.

Check the relay in the passenger kickpanel, well it should be there for the trans. There is also a large connector in there with 10-12 pins that piggybacks the ECU harness, verify plugged in. And of course the case connector itself. I would remove and douche with Deoxit, both male and female sides.

Wow, 05/86 is basically end of the line. Neat!

Kris Burrito is in Mesa, he is down the street from ya... and has my old 11/84 745i in Cosmos. You should harass him to plop the M102 into it I gave him...car has BBSs, Bil HDs all around, LSD, rear power seats, no factory rear speakers!

BTW, those 15" wheels on the '86 make ideal spare tires. The E38 'style 5' do not fit in the hole with a 225/50R16.

Thank you sir! I have some plans for it that may invite the purists to come out and play..... but I won’t release too many details yet!

I’ll have to hunt him down! I’m lucky enough to have an LSD from the factory and the rear privacy screen, a neat feature that’ll go well with some of the “executive” plans I have.

I promise the details are still coming. I’m in the middle of a move and for some reason the girlfriend deemed unpacking and furniture rearranging a priority.

I I have a write up from mye28 that seemed really laid out and relateable with the shared m30. And correct on that starter number! I will hunt your walk through down as well as additional info.
