Going to change the cabin filter. I viewed the youtube video on how to do this and I noticed he disconnected the battery. The process seems pretty straight forward. My question is, is it necessary to disconnect the battery? On the video, he states it prevents accidental discharge of air bag. Now I'm not some kind of automotive engineer, but it seems unnecessary. What do y'all think. Thanks.
Here is the procedure according to BMW TIS:https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f...ilter/1LfjIG2k
(includes the associated warnings)

No mention of battery disconnect,
and I don't see why it would be necessary,
as no SRS systems/sensors are disturbed or in the way.
