    Question Strange Wire cut-off

Under the hood I noticed a wire that comes from the interior of the car and it's cut-off and scotched. It goes from the same hole as cord for hood opening. Any ideas what that might be? The car is 524td '86. Thanks!

Something aftermarket, nothing else shares the cable opening.
An image would help, you could always pull the lower panel down/out and trace that wire.
