Hi all, new to the forum and new to BMW ownership.
I have a question regarding my 760 sometimes not wanting to start. Usually after driving it just a short distance, maybe a couple miles for a beer run.. the car will not crank. When this happens, I can try to start it 5 or 6 more times and it will finally get going. I have noticed that on a couple of occasions it will crank for a fraction of a second but most times nothing.
I did some research and I am thinking possibly a bad ISM module or crank position sensor, but I am no expert by any means. Any ideas/info would be greatly appreciated
Well, I ordered a new ISM module.. cheap enough, super easy to replace, may as well try it. Any other suggestions are very welcome if I am on the wrong track, but I will keep updating the thread as I know more in case anyone else can use this as a reference
The problem finally happened in my garage where I could troubleshoot. Battery voltage was 12.06 on the terminals, diagnostic screen read 11.12 ish V. I reseated the battery connections and diagnostic registered 11.7 and the car started. Shut off and tried again, nothing.. diagnostic reading back down 11.3.V. Any suggestions on what product to use to improve connection on the battery terminals?

Also, anyone know what kind of craziness it going to show me on the dash after I remove the battery?
(Moderators, can this thread be moved to general mechanical forum for more visibility and hopefully more advice?)

How old is the battery
I do not know have owned the car less than a month. It is a OEM battery complete with the BMW branding on it so last it was changed must have been at a dealership. Battery tested good at the auto part store.
New ISM arrived today. The voltage discrepancy is gone and seems to be starting just fine
