I'm looking to replace my worn out PFC 01 pads for an up coming HPDE event. It appears that the price has gone up a lot on the PFC products and my favorite PFC 01's are no longer available. A friend of mine with a car of similar weight and hp recommended the Carbotech pads, XP12 f and XP10 r, but I'd like to hear more opinions on them. The car is a 3400 lb. turbo e36 with Stoptech BBK 332 mm front, stock rears, 3" ducts up front. The PFC 01's were half worn after the four 25 min sessions on the local track which is known to be very hard on brakes just to give you an idea of what they will be up against. I will also try spraying some water in the ducts to the center of the rotors to see if that helps as I have been fighting high brake temps on this track. The track is Mission Raceway, best time is a 1:14.

Apexperformance.net was having a good sale on PFC pads just a few weeks ago.
Also, I was VERY pleased with the immense stopping power of the Hawk DTC70's when I ran out of PFC 01s. For longer life, the DTC 60's are worth a shot. Both Hawk and PFC are more widely used on our platform, would highly recommend them both.
Loved the performance of XP12/10 setup on my coupe, but I’d pretty much burn through a set in a weekend (8 - 20 min sessions). Trying PFC08s right now, and while I’m getting much better wear, I don’t like the grabby behavior when they get hot.

They're just ok in my book. Even for a race pad they squeal insanely unless you bed them right and then never street drive. They take longer to hit than other good pads like the 01. They have good performance but once you cook them they turn into roasted cowdung. I'm a fan of the new Hawk offerings. I hadn't paid much attention to them since 10 years ago when they were left in the dust by new products but I got a good deal on a set if DTC60s for my wife's track car and I'm happy to say Hawk is back. These pads are terrific. Little street noise, hit well in turn 1 and at full torque after that. And last well. I'll probably get a set of 80s for the brembos on the e30 when the time comes.
DTC60s from FCPEuro. Free pads for life.
I considered that but FCP doesnt have DTC60 for Stoptech ST40 calipers (D609).
