Goodevening,
I bought a 2001 325i used, honestly it was trashed, so many problems but I bought this car knowing that. I want to completely change the car around. Its been sitting for a couple months now. I've been in college so I haven't had much time until now. All of my oil has leaked from the car. I checked the valve cover gasket and housing and it doesn't appear to be coming from there. so I checked under the car and it seems like its dripping from where the engine and transmission connects. Dont really know what I need to replace so any advice on what it could possibly be and where I can find the part.
Thanks,
TC
Your in the e36 forum but never the less it could be your rear main seal, between the engine and transmission but it could also be the oil filter housing gasket as the oil migrates back while you drive down the road. I would try this first as it is a much smaller job and is probably due for replacement anyway. The rear main seal is a low parts cost but labor intensive affair that makes sense when you replace the clutch (assuming manual).
