    It's been a loooong time!

Hello everyone, it's been a long time since I've posted anything, or, been interested in starting the obsession again. Yeah, the obsession. It's been 3 years that the car has been sitting in the garage. I never drained the coolant/gas or even took out my EMS. Last time I drove the car it was 200miles on a fresh M50 honed, Wiseco/Eagle stroked motor. I was leaning out up top on a small fuel pump and was going to go to a dual pump setup.

Never got around to it. UNTIL NOW......

I pulled the cooling system because it was gross and ordered new stuff. I love it. I can get a new aluminum radiator/waterpump/Tstat and hoses for $200 today. LOL, this is great!!

    The setup is

Built head, valves, springs, stock cams
    T40 T4 (GT35R wheel) water cooled
M3 crank, eagle/wiseco 8:5/1, and the block is ringed
Stock M50 headgasket, Reg ARP studs
Not sure on the fuel pump
    TEC 3R

I am DONE breaking parts......I no longer need a 10 sec pass(but secretly want one). I just don't want to spend any more money. I WANT TO DRIVE MY CAR!!!

Anyway, just want to say "hello" and throw out some pics.

If the Lord Jesus Christ is willing I should have this running soon. I'll keep everyone posted.

LOL, yeah Tom built this thing for me a long time ago. It's just sad that you can get a 335i, chip it and have a king kong type thing.

Who else was part of that crew? Good to see you are still at it. It will be so satisfying once it’s running again.

Ahahahahaha!! I actually sent a Deathbase shirt we had made up to Mr Blonde in Australia years ago. Yeah, I feel like an antique. I know if I ever sell this thing A) I won't get anything for it B) I have had this car for 15+ years, have soooo much time and money in it C) When I'm not farting with changes and it's running right....IT'S INSANE! D) I like knowing when I see fast cars that "one day when I get my car running again.......I could take it

    Thanks again guys.

I need to get a good cam timing video. I'll search but if anyone has one in mind please link it up!

    Hell yes!

IIRC, Cam was going a major life change with his family the last time he posted.

Geno and I were very good friends, but, life just kept coming. I focused on my career at the time which cost me a marriage and friends, then got divorced, ugly custody stuff. Geno and Tom(Bmwperson) have always been great people.

I should probably pick up the phone and reach out.

I got the head back on and the cams timed up!! Now just need to put the rest of this thing back together. I'll take some pics and post them up later today.

I am the same way about not trying to break parts and just driving it....any thoughts to selling the TEC3R and going to a tune on the stock DME? With your setup, you should in the 6xx now....

I have no idea. LOL, I have a whole double pump fuel system that I haven't put in. I started actually figuring out how to tune the TEC myself which was liberating because I am not an engineer. I'm a sales guy. If someone in the area wanted to do a trade I would consider it for sure. Again, I want to drive this car or I want to set it on fire. At this point either option would be ok.

It's good to see you posting! Brings back memories. I told Someguy(Perry) that he's made all the old timers not want to push the envelope anymore because he's done created the cardboard, synthesized the tape and built the jet to take the package all over the place. What left is there to do?

For daily driving simplicity, I would go to a stock ECU tune with stock wiring harnesses. I agree with spending more time driving and less time working unless the projects are more fun to you than the driving.

I spoke to him briefly a few weeks ago and the man is just busy with life. He has been out of the bmw game for a while now and was rocking a 996 last I saw.

OP I think I sold you my m50 a while ago! Im assuming you ended up building it? It needed a helicoil when I sold it but was pretty solid.
Glad to know some chicago folks are still in the game. I think Tom's e36 is still sitting at his shop collecting dust for the past ten years lol

Yeah, Tom has that e36 with the s38 and I was hoping he would finish that thing but I think he wants a lambo.
