Greetings all,
I saw a thread posted in 2010 on this but no clear answer. I just bought an 08 E93 6MT, When at cruising speed there is a pronounced rattle coming from the gear shifter when under acceleration. When I let off the loud pedal it stops. Also if I rest my hand on the shifter it stops. It is most pronounced in 4th and 6th gear. Could it be the light inside the knob? Or something different. I was told it just recently had the linkage bushings replaced with urethane. It drives me crazy as its constant.

I wish that was the worst of my problems. At 71000 miles the engine seized. Had new crank and bearings replaced at 64000 because of a vibration, That didn't work. Now this. Was just driving normal, came out of a store shifting from second to third at about 4k and the engine quit. No noise, no warnings, no nothing. Thought it was dead battery at first. Went to start it and just got click, click, click. Then restraint warning light and wipers going by themselves. Anybody have a good engine for sale? Cheap? Its a really nice car with a really bad engine
