This link seems to have curb weight: http://consumerguideauto.howstuffwor...28i-323i-4.htm

I've been on there. But the problem is that info is for 92s only..
my 323 says 1330kg on the rego. label. That would translate to 2926lb's if my imperial conversion's correct.
It's going to vary based on transmission and various options (heated/power seats, sunroof) you have installed.
Figure around 3100 pounds with a tank of gas. There's no significant difference between the coupes and sedans.

But I was thinking 328, 323 will be heavier because of different options you can have on the car. I am just trying to get like a closer number. But thanks tho! Basically I was just trying to find out if there's a big difference between i and iS. And the answer is no. Thanks everyone!
Blanco I dont know man you cant really handle it when VANOS kicks in!!

A 328 is a 325 with .2l more displacement and a face lift. Basically, the sedan and coupe weigh the same. How, I'm not really sure, but they do.
VANOS. Pfft.

That's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (the maximum allowable total weight of a road vehicle, including the weight of the vehicle itself plus fuel, passengers and cargo), not curb weight ("wet" weight with no fuel, passengers or cargo).
BIG difference.
my car weighed 3307 with me included..i weight about 185lbs
Long Live ElPandashow
I just weighed my car (with spare, 1 gal in gas tank) with me in it and it came in at 3240. Minus my weight and the spare and I'm finally under the 3k mark .
and what about the convertible? will it be like 200 heavier? I saw the website but the e36 convertible started in '94 right?
I've compared my actual weight (per calibrated scales) to the vehicle weight listed on my title and found the title weight to be dead on (minus 200 lbs of driver).
Actually 328 is a different engine, also 328i has some pre facelift models. Curb weight on my 328i 1996 Manual is 1320kg, NZ spec so the american versions seem to differ alot to the rest of the world so dont know if you can use that as a guide. You guys get funny gear boxes and headlights and emmissions stuff so hard to tell, im guessing the difference wouldnt be that much in weight. Also I think you need to add about 50kg for the auto box.
Yes, a different engine with .2l more displacement.

my 96 328 coupe is 31XX, the sedan is listed the same (in the manual)
just a side note, auto is 70 pounds more i think...just another reason why a 5 speed is better!!!!!
