So we just got really lucky. Our good friends in L.A. are selling their house and downsizing they offered us their one-owner 2003 Z4 3.0i for $5000. It has 32,000 miles on it and has been garaged in the Hollywood Hills its whole life. Needless to say we snapped it up. The car had been parked in their garage for 2-years and once we replaced the battery it fired right up and runs flawlessly. Everything is in working order except the A/C compressor is not coming on and since we live in Vegas...that's an issue. They said it worked when the car was parked. Could this possibly just be the relay?
Also any other recommendation on what we should do, change or look out for on a car that was parked for 2 years is MOST welcome.
Thanks!
(so glad to be back in the BMW family, previously owned a '91 735iL, '89 750iL, '97 740iL and a '04 330i)
Sometimes the Z4's will slip back into transport mode when the battery goes flat. You need someone with good diagnostics gear to check/reset it or its off to the dealer.

There is only one thing more pleasurable than working on a Z3, that's driving it top down on a fine day.
