those who have ams500 ebc or similar

Running in normal mode when I trigger stage 1 or stage 2 the increase solenoid starts to click on and off. I understand it has to open to allow the MAP sensor to read but its a relentless chatter. Does everyone drive around with this constant ticking or am I missing something. I did buy this unit used not sure if this operation is normal or not.

The clicking is normal in that mode. Most of the time it didn’t bother me. They are awesome boost controllers.

Thanks for the help. Is this common with all ebc controllers? I like the ams500 but the noise will get to me before to long. It’s pretty audible outside the car.

Depends on how you have the solenoids mounted.

I used little rubber grommets to isolate the solenoid body from the plate I mounted them to:

I don't hear them at all....

I’ll give that a try and see what I’m left with. I isolated the plate with rubber from the chassis but not the solenoids from the plate.

Does this thing just click when you're driving normally off boost?
i have one of those valves and it's just lose. unmounted.
being held in place by the vacuum lines.
    no noise.

I have not driven car with it on, finishing intercooler piping. As I understand the increase solenoid will continually be clicking while active. Which is odd. In my head when it sees vacuum why not just leave it open tell positive pressure is recognized.

I have that valve, I put it at 100% duty cycle everywhere that I knew I couldn't make real boost which means it's fully closed and silent. Noise is normal for them since they are a PWM solenoid.

You probably won’t notice the clicking while driving.

I can't hear the clicking over my turbo....I think you just have to turn the boost up!

I made the mistake of mounting mine on the ecu cover (and will be moving it because it also looks terrible) But since that cover almost leads into the interior it was quite noticeable. You can see it in on the cover.
