Odd Loss of Power at high RPM

Today I took her for an hour ride and while on the highway doing 80, i try to go in to overdrive and the car stalls, not completely but losses power and check engine light starts to flicker until I step off the gas. Car pulls hard otherwise and redlines through every gear. It seams to be only when I get around the 70mph range and up.
    Has anyone heard of this...?
I've replaced plugs, caps, rotors, coils recently with correct parts.
Stomp code shows 1234 but speedo works fine.
I don't have a reader so I'll likely take it to a local specialist but hoping for some golden nuggets from the usual experts???

    Thanks,

    Nick

Yes, ABS light is on frequently but not constantly. I saw this post however the "cause" does not properly describe the symptoms. Typically happens over 60mph and car Boggs down...kinda like Limp mode, check engine light flashes until I ease up on the gas. Coasts fine all the way past 100mph. Seems to happen on hard acceleration when past 70 or 80.

If you have the ASC light come on make sure the rolling diameter of the front axle is the same as the rear - over 3% disparity and you will have problems you describe - that includes different inflation pressures.

Many people have had the same problem from what I've gathered reading lots of older threads.

My car did the same thing when I first put it on the road but, I used some aftermarket spark plug wires. And it turns out the CIS sensors or donuts for spark plug 6 and 12 did not work correctly on the new aftermarket wires.

As soon as I replaced those two new wires and sensors with the old OEM wires and sensors the engine ran fine.

    - - - Updated - - -

The manufacturer had no idea why their sensors did not work correctly. I measured the resistance and they were within specs. Maybe the insulation on the new wires was too thick for the weak Bosch coils to produce a strong enough signal.

speed sensor code, weird stumbling at speed... hmm...
could be the sensor, but more likely a connector or wire somewhere.
I've not had to trace back that circuit before, I'm sure someone else here has.

    Check, check aaand check.
I'll add that my trans is on its it's way out and slipping a bit but no trans fail error. Any chance when going into overdrive at 80mph could cause that? Doesn't happen below 70-80mph.
