    Cerwin-Vega VPAS 10

Has anyone tried this unit in the starboard side of the wagon over the battery ? Not too pricey, and kills 2 birds with one stone.

Looks like it would work there, with a little mounting ingenuity. You might be able to even cannabalize the factory Nokia box such that you could strap the CV to it. Basically cut the whole center out of the box so it acted as frame around the CV, then it would pivot and remove easily like the factory unit. My biggest complaint w/ mine is the PITA to take it out to get to the battery. I always take it out before leaving car at a shop cuz the monkeys are gonna be totally confused when they pop the door off and can't figure out how to get the Sub out...

Can’t believe you actually let other apes put their grubby little digits on your car! Screw that! I am the sole toucher of my cars, when things go bad, nobody to blame but myself, I like it like that.

GG, that's something I didn't think of; put the C-V on that hinge. Do I not need to have the sub facing out into open air with just a grill over top ? I didn't want to cut a hole in that rear carpeted pull out panel, so I was thinking I could put the sub directly behind the rear seat upright portion. But I don't think it will fit, because I need to be able to lift the floor up to the point where it can be retained by those hooks.

Heck, I just took some measurements, and could certainly put the C-V VPAS10 in that cavity AND on the hinge. But again, do I need
to butcher anything to let the sound through ?!?

LOL to Snotts as always. I have fallen in his ranking and will have much penance to do to make up for it!

    Doh!Hal:

Well theoretically I know subwoofers should be able to operate in closed compartments like that pretty well, and, that compartment does also have vents out the top (to the base of the window) which is where the stock sub vents some sound…

But a year or so ago, a member gave me a free extra cover in the right interior color that he’d used for a sub. I cut a bigger perfect circle in it and mounted a bigger grill there, and, I must admit I get a ton more bass out of it now. “Better clarity on transients” and other audiophile gobbledygook. If you can score a spare junkyard cover I recommend it. Maybe that white car that just burned up has one for sale

Oh boy, another project. I want to get another cover and cut a hole to see if I can get more BASS. If it's clean, you can never have enough BASS. I read and reread your thread on your polish bass box so now I got to give the cover hole a try.
