Howdy,
I have a BMW 2009 328i Conv. The Radio is Bluetooth for my phone contacts but will not do Bluetooth for music. This seems very strange to me. Of course the dealer did not point that out when I bought it. So, my question is why can I not buy the next model up which would allow me to use Bluetooth for both my phone contacts and music? It seems from my previous owned 3 series cars newer Radio model would work and fit. When I leased a 2013 model it had all the bells and whistles and I realize I may not achieve that but since my car already has some kind of Bluetooth my thought is I should be able to do this. Not sure how much newer I need. 2010 model? If the answer is yes where would I go to buy it? I appreciate any help anyone can give.
That head unit surely should stream music via Bluetooth. I know bluetooth in the previous generation of the 3 series didn’t stream music, but I can almost guarantee that your head unit streams via Bluetooth. Check the owners manual. What smartphone are you using?
Hi,
You can retrofit later year examples of the same type of car audio modules and even later model year cars. You need to check and double check for compatibility and how to do this via the forums and specialists who do this kind of upgrade/retrofit work. It's not as easy as just plugging in a later module. Check the E9x forum here and other sites and also do check that your setup as Marco mentions, isn't already capable.
Cheers, Dennis!
