Hey guys, strange issue with the car(01 325ci). When cruising at steady speed, the car will fall on it’s face for a second or two then come right back, 10 seconds later it will do it again. Isn’t all the time and have not been able to pin point a certain throttle position that does it. What I noticed when watching the data stream was that the throttle pedal angle and throttle angle would go to zero, the pedal signals 1&2 and the throttle signal 1&2 voltage readings didn’t change. Car has no software modifications(shark tuner, pedalbox, etc). Only things on it are a cold air intake and Remus cat back, neither of which are new to it. The only fault code is inlet cam sensor signal which has been there for a while(sensor was replaced, vanos rebuilt 6 months ago), there’s also 2 accelerator brake pedal plausibility codes...from heel toe downshifting. I have a creator c110+ tool and have reset adaptations but haven’t driven the car yet but honestly don’t think that will change anything with this issue. Pedal position pot failing maybe? I’m still new to this drive by wire system so any input is appreciated.
Clear the codes, drive until the fault occurs and then check again.
The problems are that the throttle and pedal data streams are both going to zero. You likely have a wiring problem. The DME provides the power to these subsystems.
