I love how the e39 touring's rear bumper looks with the indent where the bumper meets the valence. I'm not a huge fan of the msport rear touring bumper and it's solid look.
I do really love the m-sport front bumper thought...
does anyone think just the m-sport front would look good with the existing non-m rear? Or would there be too much of an imbalance?
My current face lift bumpers are looking a bit beat up and I'm planning on replacing them with m-sports front and rear, but I've really taken a liking into how sporty the existing rear bumper looks...
I’m a fan of the M sport bumpers so I replaced both front and rear:
OEM M5 front bumper
OEM M-Sport rear bumper
The Msport rear diffuser cut-out is larger therefore facilitates the addition of a dual tip exhaust - which worked great for me since my plan was to add the Magnaflow muffler.

I installed an M sport front bumper, but still rock the stock rear. Do the sedan rears fit the touring? Or are the tourings longer? I thought I found one, but I seem to recall it was "for sedans only".
Nope, the touring bumpers are completely different. Aside from the length, the touring rear bumpers have that cutout in the top for the plastic trim strip, whereas the sedans just have paint on top. I think it's a brilliant little change by BMW to make the E39 touring more practical.

I feel the M5 front looks good and the stock rear e39 wagon bumper looks correct. I think you can have either a body color on the top (later model) or do a black rubber. The M sport rear wagon bumper it also a winner.
To be fair, you can't see the front and rear bumpers at the same time, so very few people would even notice they are different.

personally I actually prefer the rear Touring bumper to the M-sport bumper. IMO there's no way in which it doesn't match up... it blends into the rear of the car perfectly, the M5 bumper blends into the front of the car perfectly... I suppose if you had the uber rare factory aero touring side-skirts and the stock bumper, it'd be off, but I think it looks fine / great / better than the factory M-sport one-exhaust look.
A full M bumper w/ M5 style dual exhausts... maybe.. but its so much work to pull off - totally not worth it.
