Does anyone have a pic of the E30 M42 idle control module in its correct location next to the ECU? Just to make sure, I am not asking about the ICV which is in the engine bay. I pulled the glove box out and the ECU but I can't find anything that looks like what I think the ICM looks like. Is it around the AC blower/behind the radio? Maybe the PO eliminated it previously. Thanks.
google for pics? I know I do not have one
No e30s again.
All the pics I found were either of the module removed from its natural habitat or of the ICV.
hmm, how about google for e30 m42 dme location, or ecu location? see if those pics would also happen to capture what you are looking for?

No e30s again.
Was this ICM ever found, and if so, where is it?
I have a 1988 325i and have been having these random idle surges on a cold start. ICV (not to be confused with the ICM) was replaced a few years ago. Also got a code 16, if that helps.
Thanks.
On the 325i, its controlled by the ecu. No idle module
No e30s again.
Thanks, superj.
Any suggestions then for a code 16? I did replace the idle stabilization relay and cleared codes early this week, but this morning got a brief surging idle. Will have to check for new codes over the weekend. Did hear the ICV buzzing when the key was on and I was checking for codes, just so you know.
No, no idea
No e30s again.
