VEMS v3.3 tuning. Any others on this setup?
Just installed a VEMS v3.3 PNP onto my e34 Touring with M50tu/manual. Updated some firmware, a config file and she fired right up. Right now, the engine is 100% stock 160k mile setup. Clean, no leaks, no issues car.
I am going to be adding an Eaton M122 supercharger from Hyde Motor Works. He's got a thread here somewhere. Anyway, I wanted to shake down the standalone and engine as it sits right now so I can limit the amount of 'new additions' that may confuse future diagnostics.
As of my first test drive, I've got a great running system. I may need to decrease some timing due to the low grade (91 octane) fuel and extreme temps here in Vegas (saw 113* ambient today). I did hear some low level detonation but nothing more than the chipped 413 I was running before. That said - I now have full tuneability - so I'd like to get things ironed out.
Anyone here have vems tuning experience? Here is my ignition and fuel tables after a little tinkering. LMK what you think. I was hoping GSTuning, HSV, or 5nail5 would check in here for a chat.
I am having trouble with idle when the A/C is switched on. The car will die pretty much immediately. Does anyone know the proper settings here in the A/C idle control to compensate for the additional load?
Which begs my next question. The Eaton will increase a pretty good amount of load itself, even at idle. How would I go about making the changes needed to compensate for it (when install day comes)?
