    E46 brakes on a E36?

I’m sorry, I haven’t done much research because I’m pressed for time with this. I have a 1994 325i and I’d like to upgrade my brakes. I have a chance to purchase M Series Calipers both E36 and E46. My question is can I fit E46 M3 Calipers on my 1994 325i? Has anyone done it and if so, how much extra work is required?

    Thanks!!

E46 m3 calipers will need a modified bracket to fit on the e36 knuckles. A bolt on upgrade would be the E46 330i brakes, which are about the same as the E36 M3. Or the E36 M3 brakes themselves.

I appreciate the information. I ended up purchasing E36 M3 Calipers for the rear. Now I just have to get something for the front. Should I just go with the E36 M3 Calipers for the fronts too?

You know come to think of it, you might need m3 trailing arms to fit the m3 rear calipers.

The pattern of all rear caliper mounting tabs is exactly the same.

If you want a working parking brake, you'll need the M3 trailing arms.

I find the E46 330/325 upgrade adequate with ducting.

for e36 m3 front brakes you're going to need the m3 knuckles. Not hard to replace if you go that route
