    Hard top noise fix?

So like many others my hard top makes noise. Yes it's quite annoying. I may have found a solution on accident. I was putting the hard top on and noticed there were fat o-rings on each of the pins on the convertible top, as it was retracting. I put them on the hard top, not noise from the front. I just have to adjust the rear a bit and hopefully the noise will still be gone. I have very little noise in the rear currently.

My experience is they all make noise. Some more, some less. As long as I don’t have leaks I can deal with it. Post back your findings on the o rings including how well they work and size and source if you can. My softop just has the bare pins and those little square rubber isolators that insert at the top of windshield frame. Those always seem to pop out and get lost.

The o rings were on the car when I got it. I never noticed them before.

For anyone familiar with o rings for fuel injectors, it looks like that size. I would have to pull one and size it.

I roughly measured an o ring.
    ID, ~1/4"
OD, is a bit over 1/2'

I do occasionally hear some movement from the top. Without the o rings, it sounded like the top was coming apart. Every flex, bump, even looking at it wrong, the top would creak and pop. So I am happy with the o rings to help quiet things down.

Most top noises come from the front even though you hear in the back. I’ve gone through every inch of the internet, the thing that worked best was getting the front hooks on so they are nice and tight. I even wrap a little electrical tape on the rollers it it helped a lot. The back does not have to be as tight.

I have a rip in the front seal. I'm considering getting some small tubing and putting it inside the seal. That should help with making a better seal? Tubing in both the upper and lower parts of the seal. I can't afford $500 for a new seal.
