    Crickets.....

Bottom line: Keep it civil and helpful REGARDLESS of the lack of awareness of the poster to the abundance of DIY articles that answer his/her question posted years ago.

    Meh.

BO-ring!!!! This place would be WAY more fun with just 5% less civility! We need LESS civility not more. That’s my platform for Ombudsman - vote early vote often people.

Also - drastically oversimplifies and mischaracterizes the worst of frustrating posters. “I didn’t bother to search on a FAQ” is a minor misdemeanor on the scale of d-baggery. The threads that get some of us going aren’t just the basic “I didn’t search” typically, they are stuff like “ I want to do a really stupid thing to my car, but I also declare that nobody who disagrees with me can ever post in my thread, then when someone disagrees with me and posts anyway because they are trying to correct factual disinformation I clicked the abuse button.” Or how about n00bz that don’t like hearing facts, and when they are pointed out reply telling me I’m a loser who knows nothing about cars and has never picked up a wrench and why doesn’t somebody who actually knows something reply instead... and THEN clicks the abuse button, despite just having been 10x more abusive to me than I ever was to them.

Good lord “I didn’t bother to search” barely wakes me up from my drunken stupor most of the time. Speaking of which, this beer is warm. Needs more chugging.

WAAAAAA! That is the trouble of internet access and having a key board. Every IDIOT moves to expert with a click of their little Star Trek mouse. I do enjoy the postings of those who offer up solutions/approaches that are based on a total lack of mechanical or engineering basics. But what the hell, life is short and there are so many of them out there on all the auto focused forums. One man's butchery is another's "art". Some people absorb information and make repairs, others just bang away.... I am a firm believer in: It's your car, your money, your effort, just don't come crying when it all goes wrong at highway+ speeds.

Snotty> you deserve the whackings you get....
