2006 BMW X5 Confusing Headlight probelm

So, I have an E53 X5 with a really confusing headlight issue. It has the xenon bulbs (not dual xenons) just the regular ones. The driver side is out, so I thought, and the halo lights dimly illuminate. I was cleaning the interior of the car and accidentally activated the welcome home headlight feature. Well, both headlights came on. Super confusing. And then when I go to turn on the easlights still no luck. But every time I activate the welcome home feature they both come on. It’s a consistent issue. Was hoping someone had the same issue or at least had a little more knowledge than me on this issue. I’m either thinking the switch or wiring from the switch. Thanks in advance everyone!

Just to verify because I can't remember the last time I activated the "pathway" lights...but I thought that it uses the high beam bulb. If that's the case, then that wouldn't affect your low beam xenon (HID) bulb.

Initiate your pathway lights then take a look...the bulbs CLOSEST to the kidney grills should be the ones that are illuminated. When you are using your xenon bulbs (your regular low beam headlights)...then it should be the outer bulbs (CLOSEST to the fenders).

The halos uses their own bulb separate from the xenon low beam and (probably) halogen high beam bulb in your case. For example, in the diagram below of the regular xenon (HID) headlight:
    • #14 = the halo (parking light) bulb
    • #15 = the high beam halogen bulb
    • #16 = the low beam xenon bulb
    • #18 = turn signal bulb

The pathway lights are definitely using the xenon low beam bulbs. Not sure what it could be.

The thing is that everything else on the headlight works. Just not the low beam xenon bulb. It just confuses me that it turns on the with the follow me home feature but not with the switch. Would this happen from a faulty lcm? Im not very educated when it comes to headlights. Thanks for the help.
