Thinking of making the switch to PC...and I'm lost haha

Been playing Overwatch and R6: Seige on xbox one for about the last year and I am finally getting to the point that using a controller is hurting my game play so I think its time to join the PC master race. The big problem is I have been an xbox guy for a very long time and have no idea what I am looking at when it comes to anything more in depth than frames per second haha. Any advice for someone completely out of the loop?

In PC gaming, fps is usually king.

Do you have a PC? Do you know the specs?

There are a few youtubers who do a good job PaulsHardware does various priced builds, Jayztwocents is another, Bitwit and Linustechtips, but he is a little out there lol. It really depends on what budget you have and if you want to build it yourself or not.

Well how much do you want to spend? What do you want to play on PC? Can you build your own or do you want/need a pre-built?

FPS in PC is the best compared to other consoles. I also find the online-multiplayer in PC the easiest. The overall setup of your PC is also a factor to consider.

    CyberPowerPC.

They'll build you one cheaper than you can build it, yourself. Plenty of perfectly serviceable, cookie cutter set ups.

Do you think someone who doesn't have a PC would know how to put together a PC and install an operating system?

"They'll build you one cheaper than you can build it, yourself."

He didn't say "more quickly" or "more easily." Every PC builder builds their first PC sometime.

Exception granted for the one you cherry picked, apparently. I'd say don't buy that one, but they appear to have removed it as an option, anyway.

Couldn't build my last four cheaper, so, six of one. Happy trails, buddy.

Matched brands where I could, in some cases they're using self-branded stuff. $1866 vs. $2099.

You're missing parts and ignoring shipping costs.

Come pick a fight with me in another forum; I'm in here with the reliability of an E36.

Copy-paste from their site. I can match it up point-by-point with my build:

    CPU: IntelŽ Core™ Processor i9-9900K 3.60GHZ 16MB Intel Smart Cache LGA1151
CPU / Processor Cooling Fan: Corsair Hydro Series H60 120mm Liquid CPU Cooling System w/ Copper Cold Plate (Single Standard 120MM Fan)
    Motherboard: ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 4 -CB ATX w/ 802.11ac Wi-Fi, ARGB, USB 3.1, 2 PCIe x16, 3 PCIe x1, 6 SATA3, 2 M.2 SATA/PCIe
RAM / System Memory: 16GB (8GBx2) DDR4/3000MHz Dual Channel Memory (ADATA XPG Z1)
Video Card: GeForceŽ RTX 2080 8GB GDDR6 (Turing) [VR Ready] (Single Card)
Power Supply: 800 Watts - Standard 80 Plus Certified Power Supply - SLI/CrossFireX Ready
Primary Hard Drive: 500GB WD Blue SSD + 3TB SATA III Hard Drive Combo (Combo Drive)
Keyboard: CyberpowerPC Multimedia USB Gaming Keyboard
Mouse: CyberpowerPC Standard 4000 DPI with Weight System Optical Gaming Mouse
Operating System: Windows 10 Home (64-bit Edition)
You're right, it looks like I forgot their house-brand "gaming" keyboard, so throw in an extra $15. Also, for PCPartPicker:

    Prices include shipping,
For CyberpowerPC, shipping is $75, so you're right, it's even a worse deal. I'm not sure why you think a business can operate at a loss?

Putting together a PC is ridiculously easy and even more so now that youtube exist. You can find a step by step guide for everything. Probably the most nerve racking part for someone new is inserting the CPU into the CPU slot (which again is easy, but I can see someone being scared the first time, since it is a 5-600 dollar component). Other than that, everything else is like legos. Even installing windows is easy and if needed there are guides on youtube for that.

As far as the gaming goes, I have not owned a console since N64. Do all my gaming on PC: Dota, PUBG, Counter-Strike, so many great games. I can't speak for the skill level on consoles (I believe most FPS on console have some type of auto aim/assist) but, I believe the skill level and learning curve is typically higher on PC's.

I'm looking to do the same thing and I think the first step would be a pre-owned purpose built gaming PC. I would rather not spend the time researching how to do everything on my own first and am happy to pay for something already tried and tested. I know it might be a little behind the curve but you can always upgrade your PC and I don't require 4k crazy graphics and all that....just yet. A buddy of mine has been into PC gaming for a while and he does stuff on Twitch and what not, I'll probably buy his setup soon so I can jump in right away.
The primary goal is racing simulators, already have the seat rig and all that but its been hooked up to my Xbox. Forza is great but I know the PC stuff is better once you're looking for more realism.

I was in the same boat last month but the CL sellers in my area are very proud of their builds. For the same price as what was being asked for a used system, I got an Alienware Aurora from Fry's. I also didn't want to deal with the hassle of building a system as it's been about 20 years since I've built my last one. Good luck making the move.

Ended up getting a pc that someone else had built and I have been upgrading parts as time and money allows. Found a local 1080sc graphics card I am trying to grab this week. If anyone on here plays Overwatch or Rainbow Six: seige let me know and I'll add you

Also want to build a gaming machine. I have a PC already but it can't even handle straming video from worldcams.tv/united-states/boston/city-views without lagging so I will definitely need more power. Thought about 8700K+1080ti. Quite a powerful setup and the price won't be too high. What do you guys think?
