Been playing Overwatch and R6: Seige on xbox one for about the last year and I am finally getting to the point that using a controller is hurting my game play so I think its time to join the PC master race. The big problem is I have been an xbox guy for a very long time and have no idea what I am looking at when it comes to anything more in depth than frames per second haha. Any advice for someone completely out of the loop?
There are a few youtubers who do a good job PaulsHardware does various priced builds, Jayztwocents is another, Bitwit and Linustechtips, but he is a little out there lol. It really depends on what budget you have and if you want to build it yourself or not.

FPS in PC is the best compared to other consoles. I also find the online-multiplayer in PC the easiest. The overall setup of your PC is also a factor to consider.
Enjoying off-road driving lately. Thanks to Robert for my set of fuel wheels and Mickey Thompson tires.
CyberPowerPC.
They'll build you one cheaper than you can build it, yourself. Plenty of perfectly serviceable, cookie cutter set ups.
Really? I built out their $2539 build (currently $500 off to $2039!) for $1700:

You're missing parts and ignoring shipping costs.
Come pick a fight with me in another forum; I'm in here with the reliability of an E36.

Copy-paste from their site. I can match it up point-by-point with my build:

For CyberpowerPC, shipping is $75, so you're right, it's even a worse deal. I'm not sure why you think a business can operate at a loss?Prices include shipping,
Putting together a PC is ridiculously easy and even more so now that youtube exist. You can find a step by step guide for everything. Probably the most nerve racking part for someone new is inserting the CPU into the CPU slot (which again is easy, but I can see someone being scared the first time, since it is a 5-600 dollar component). Other than that, everything else is like legos. Even installing windows is easy and if needed there are guides on youtube for that.
As far as the gaming goes, I have not owned a console since N64. Do all my gaming on PC: Dota, PUBG, Counter-Strike, so many great games. I can't speak for the skill level on consoles (I believe most FPS on console have some type of auto aim/assist) but, I believe the skill level and learning curve is typically higher on PC's.
I'm selling my pc I7 4790k, Gtx 1060 6gb, 2 tb, with oculus rift for 700. Time to upgrade my motherboard to latest gen.
I'm looking to do the same thing and I think the first step would be a pre-owned purpose built gaming PC. I would rather not spend the time researching how to do everything on my own first and am happy to pay for something already tried and tested. I know it might be a little behind the curve but you can always upgrade your PC and I don't require 4k crazy graphics and all that....just yet. A buddy of mine has been into PC gaming for a while and he does stuff on Twitch and what not, I'll probably buy his setup soon so I can jump in right away.
The primary goal is racing simulators, already have the seat rig and all that but its been hooked up to my Xbox. Forza is great but I know the PC stuff is better once you're looking for more realism.
I was in the same boat last month but the CL sellers in my area are very proud of their builds. For the same price as what was being asked for a used system, I got an Alienware Aurora from Fry's. I also didn't want to deal with the hassle of building a system as it's been about 20 years since I've built my last one. Good luck making the move.
Ended up getting a pc that someone else had built and I have been upgrading parts as time and money allows. Found a local 1080sc graphics card I am trying to grab this week. If anyone on here plays Overwatch or Rainbow Six: seige let me know and I'll add you
Also want to build a gaming machine. I have a PC already but it can't even handle straming video from worldcams.tv/united-states/boston/city-views without lagging so I will definitely need more power. Thought about 8700K+1080ti. Quite a powerful setup and the price won't be too high. What do you guys think?
