    Parasitic draw

1998 740i-87,000 miles--just bought 3 months ago. One owner car.

Has a draw of .2 volts a day. Not my DD so have time to solve.

Have been disconnecting neg on battery to stop battery draw.

Connected neg to start and move the car. Left battery connected,

went out same day after dark and the interior lights were on.

But the strange thing the wipers were half way up the windshield.

They were definitely parked when I left the car.

Second time this happened with the wipers.

Anyone know any connection between the interior lights staying on

    and the wiper movement.

    Thanks for any heads up.

Other than the iggy switch, it could be General Module related. It controls the the interior lights and wipers. Had any water leaks inside the car?

Try the visor test for the ignition switch. It doesn't rule it out if nothing happens but will confirm it is the issue if odd things happen.

No water leakage. Did the visor test, everything still worked. no changes at all.
I shut the engine off, interior delay worked fine. Anymore info on the General module?

Up behind the glove box. It's often a victim of water from clogged sunroof drains.

Start by checking you actually have excessive current in sleep mode and not just tired or undercharged battery. To do these tests you need a decent battery (not just a charged but failing battery):

    Thanks Timm,
New battery a week old. Previous battery 3 months old, too many cycles of nearly full drain- couldn't hold charge anymore.

I have an amp clamp and I'll do the draw tests. I'll post with results.
