Hey guys,
I am looking into buying a 2002 BMW 325Ci, its on sale at the moment for about $8000 CAD.
It currently has 111,667 km on it.
I know that a common issue with the 3 series is water pumps and window regulators.
Is there anything else I should look out for before purchase? This will be my first bimmer so I am wondering what main problems I should keep my eye out for and also possible costs to fix things like the water pump, window regulators etc?
Thanks,
Aakash
Go to E46Fanatics and read the stickies. Here are some of the E46’s problem areas:
- cooling system
- front lower control arms including bushings
- window regulators
- rear suspension mounts ripping the body’s sheet metal.
Early E46’s suffered the last problem as BMW used stronger sheet metal starting in model year 2002. My recommend is to have the car undergo a pre-purchase inspeyperformed by a reputable indie shop that specializes in bimmers.
