Need help identifying wire harness after body work

Hello, this is my first post in the E90 forum. I’ve got a 2006 330Xi which I bought with a salvage title and repaired. I’m finishing up the reassembly and I’ve run into a wire harness/plug that I cannot identify a location for.


We took out the rear seat and all of the associates trim so it wouldn’t be damaged from cutting and welding during the body repair. The harness runs along side the main harness on the passenger side. It is a three wire and three prong plug. The thing that is really puzzling about it is that it’s not long enough to reach anything that it could be plugged into and I do not remember seeing a random harness/plug when we were doing the disassembly. I guess I could’ve overlooked something? I’m also not getting any codes or error messages from the car saying that something isn’t working as you might expect if something wasn’t plugged back in.


If I can get it to work, I’ll be adding a photo of the harness/plug in question. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

Heyyy.. that wire harness is used when the car was transported from Germany.. it doesn’t really have a use. All cars have that same harness hanging around.. I noticed it when I had to replace my fuel pump, so I made a research about it.
