    e36 ls swap cooling system

On the e36, the heater control valve has two connections to the fire wall. The flow is shown in my sketch. Is is possible to tee the two 'in' lines together? I am planning on moving the heater control valve to the passenger side firewall area due to space.

I'd like to know this as well.

Will it just be less effective heater or some other reason.

Rather just run two hoses along the firewall than 3...

    Thanks for posting.

Well, our car must drive northward in a few days...temps are in the teens!

So we are going to rig a heater up.

Plan to skip the heater control valve (ours is bad) and just accept full flow - cold enough now it will be welcome.

Can anyone confirm which barbs from the heater core are input and output?

Many thanks...will make a 1400 mile drive survivable!

this may help. yellow should be the hot feed to the control valve, while the red would be the return. the other 2 hoses are the feeds from the valve to heater core. From the 3 hoses on the firewall attaching the yellow (from the head) to both of the right hoses should give you full heat. The far left should be routed as stock.

Sacrificed: very helpful...we swung by Autozone tonight and grabbed a selection of preformed hoses and 5/8 / 3/4 hose to get to work. We hope the heater core does not leak (heater hadn't worked in the 18 months we have had the car).

    Thanks!
