question on brakes on 1982 320is

I just got my 82 320is in the shop and started taking it apart to do some work on the brakes. They seem a little soft in the pedel.
I noticed the front brakes have vented rotors and with stock wheels they have 10mm spacers. The brakes are bmw ATE r57 calipers.
According to the search I did, these are early e21 and 323i calipers. Does that seem correct to you guys/gals that know more than me about brakes?
Noticed on the passenger side it is really hard to turn the rotor. Looks like the brake pads are not disengaging; or hanging up. Is there any easy fix for this problem??
    thanks,
    jm

You're right about early E21s and 323i's having vented rotors. It's a common bolt on mod for all e21s. If your calipers are sticking you can rebuild or replace em.

When I bought my E21 both front calipers were seized. It's not too hard to rebuild them.

So if I want to replace the vented rotors on my 82, I need to get the 77 320i?
    thanks,

Yes. My '77 has vented rotors. Just order the '77 parts. The calipers have a spacer in them to accomidate the extra width.
