After a prolonged storage my 2004 X5 3.0 Diesel is experiencing electrical problems: brake lights stay on all the time, horn and windshield wipers do not work and visor mirror lights stay on all the time too...also auto lights doesn't work ( it works manually ) and the angel eyes never work independently of the lights.
Took it to an authorized dealer in Southern England plugged it in the computer and they said that the car doesn't communicate...They blame it to the Dynavin after market infotainment system that is installed ( I supplied the original ,which is an Alpine, but they didn't mount it in fear of damaging the dashboard...) Crazy...

Ignition switch
No...not without more data...but it is a possibility.
Here's a link to someone on another forum that just inquired about the same type of issues. In my reply, I posted 3 links to videos that show the odd electrical gremlins that can occur when the ignition switch is failing. It also shows the simple visor test...if you perform it and can replicate odd electrical gremlins...then more than likely the ignition switch is failing.
But you could also have other issues that could be from long term storage (was the battery kept charged?) or the removal of the original radio system because the MID or Nav screen controls the functions of a lot of systems from one central location. If you remove it...then it could affect those systems or the vehicles communication bus if something isn't wired correctly or come undone.
