Hoping someone has had this problem and knows a fix, I'm definitely not an audio guy.
I have a 00' 740il with DSP and a Grom BT-3. It has been working fine but now when I use the bluetooth there is a ton of static. No static when i use the radio and using the fader and balance to move the noise around it is always the same static. It's been fine for almost two years.

A few clarification questions and ideas:
Have you done anything recently to the system or the vehicle?
How did you route the wiring? Any pinch points or folds?
Have you unplugged the Bluetooth accessory and put it back in? Checked the microphone connection to the Bluetooth accessory?
Relocate the Bluetooth dongle to another location in the vehicle?

Nothing done recently. The dongle is just under the rear panel behind the shade. The Mic runs through the roof with all of the other wires that got to the center controls. I will check the connection on the dongle I only checked the connections to the car.

I messed with the connections on the dongle and the static went away. It might have been the 3.5mm mic connection?

Wish I can figure mine out. On the e39, had a bad coax cable, replaced it and now only low volume and low quality (very little base) coming through. I'll try another coax, all connections look good.
