Drove in a Downpour - Water leaking in from roof near back of rear door area??

Just as title says. I pulled in the garage after driving 60 miles in heavy rain when I notice water drips from the roof at the back of each rear door area. Leaking from same spot on both sides. To be exact on the location, the water drips were landing on the outer seat belt buckle.

Never happened before. Is this a clogged moonroof drain?

The drain hose may have separated from the sunroof cassette. It may be time to drop the headliner, push the hose back and put a clamp or zip tie on it.

The above is my 2 cents. Take it or leave it.

The headliner was just re-covered recently, maybe another data point to check the hose connection, before the edger line gets used.

    Update:

I lowered the rear of the headliner and found that both the rear hoses were disconnected at the back. I doubled zip-tied the hoses back on. But before I was done I had to deal with the water that was under the seat, it was soaked up by the spongy cover material covering the body panel. I had to get everything dry, so I gained access enough to get a small fan to blow air underneath the spongy covering and let it blow for a couple days on each side until it was good and dry.

Everybody jumps to clogged line but there are FOUR lines that drain the cassette and any one of them can shrink short and pop off due to the high roof heat. Any new E38 owner should pull the headliner first and glue / clamp them up. Careful with clamps, you can crack brittle plastic.

Would a disconnected rear roof drain leak into the trunk? Anyone with a picture of the roof and routing with the headliner removed? I've got a wet trunk but the cabin is dry. The car has been stored outside under a car cover so there is no risk of tree debris. My roof panel is starting to show some rust spots at the edges so I'm going to replace it anyway.

I don't think so, probably bad lip seal from the trunk lid.
