Random radio issues

My head unit will randomly just shut off and not go back on. The lights, minus the screen stay on but I get nothing. All the connections look fine, sometimes it does it other times it won't for a whole day. Any experience with this issue?

Pelican has a fix for this which I used to repair my head unit. It's called" Repair your dark radio display - Pelican Parts Technical BBS."
From what I can tell numerous E36 electrical faults in auxillary equipment seem to be solder joints failing. I've actually never had a car that has so many. All are repairable but
you have to do the research and work to repair or just replace it.

For your problem you could also check the fuse/fuse connections first before pulling the radio.
