    Brake Pad Recommendations

I got a sweet deal on a parts buy-out from an ex-E46'r with ZHP. There were many new parts including new brake set. The brake set is not considered name brand OEM parts, the rotors are Meyle Premium and the pads are Vaico. I think I am going to use the rotors but the pads I am not sure about. I have not found any reviews on Vaico brake pads.

    Anybody recommend the Vaico pads??

I want the OEM feel of Pagid/Textar/Jurid pads but I don't know if Vaico pads provide that.

I recently installed Power Stop Ceramic on the front. Brake dust is almost nonexistent compared to the Semi-Metallic pads that I removed. The car stops just fine.

If its any consolation, Vaico is a famous rebrander of many OEM parts.

I used the Ceramic pads for a while and I missed the cold bite of the OEM semi-metallic pads so I went back.

FWIW, Textar pads are dusty as H - E - double chopsticks. Have to carefully scrub the front wheels at least weekly on the '98 C280. They have recently decided to squeal like a stuck pig when hot and on moderately hard stop.

Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to add value to these threads, either by pictures or by descriptions, so the next person with the same or similar problem stands on your shoulders.

Good info. I have used Jurid's with no noticeable squeaking. There are a few things that you could try to eliminate or reduce the squeaks like "Brake Disc Quiet".

I use OEM (ATE, Textar, Jurid) for our pads, and rotors made in Germany (Zimmerman, etc...). People complain about dust, but I don't find it an issue. Our wheels are waxed(3M) , so, spraying a wheel down with the hose, when washing the car gets rid of anything to be concerned about. The car (2002 330xi) is driven by my better have, so squeaky or metallic pads are not an option(don't like hearing complaints). I like the fact the OEM pads really bite when you press the brake.
    Regards

I recommend Akebono Ceramic brake pads. They offer smooth stopping power.
