    Silicone Vacuum Lines Replacement

Anyone tried silicone hoses/lines as a replacement for their rubber vacuum hoses/lines? Mines are pretty corroded and I'm looking for a "buy it for life" option for my rubber vacuum hoses. Looking to find out:

    - Was it an upgrade over the rubber hoses/lines?
    - Cost
    - Most convenient place to buy.. Amazon? Ebay motors? Home Depot?
    - Interaction with stock clamps
    - What cool colors did you choose (just joking, but if you did pick hot red or pink, lemme see the pics )

I've just replaced the small ones (FPR, crankcase return...), mainly 'cause I got them on sale . I got them from FCP Euro, and it was like $3 for a 1 meter roll. If you poke around on the websites, you can find them at a good price from time to time.

I replaced them in 2016 and so far they're as good as new although, to be fair, the rubber ones I replaced (around the same time) look ok, too. Stock clamps fit just the same. No cool colors, tho, mine are black with a thin beige stripe

Well the rubber ones have seemingly lasted for ~30 years. what do you expect the remaining life of the car to be? Why go to the trouble and expense?
Also, not any silicone hose will do, you need vacuum hose. Something from Home Depot is likely not and may collapse, defeating its intended function.
Unless you secretly want those fancy colors

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue

Buy the ones from FCP and you'll have a lifetime guarantee. No need to spend the extra cash for silicone hoses.

I'm thinking of replacing mine with silicone before winter hits. I haven't replaced mine since I've owned the car.

Well, I'm in CA so this might be a thing that I'm unnecessarily obsessing over.
