New to BMW’s - What to look for on 2015 428i xDrive

Greetings - I recently traded my ‘13 FRS for a 2015 428i xDrive. I really love the BMW and being a big older guy, it’s a heck of allot more comfortable and easier to get in and out of. I’m impressed with the turbo 4’s power and find the car quite enjoyable. I’ve been reading up on the 428i anywhere I can find info but I’m looking for owner input as to reliability, what to look out for and common problems. I purchased the car from a BMW dealer and got and extended warranty. It has 54k miles on it. Since this is my first BMW, any help or guidance is greatly appreciated!

As with all newer cars, you'll need to save some $$$$$$ for repairs to the electronics. Every modern car is packed with "consumer grade" (meaning lower reliability) electronics. My car is 4 years old with just 22K miles. It has been in the shop twice (fortunately, under warranty) for repairs to electronics.

    The mechanicals are solid!

I had really hoped more people would respond to this, as I am in a very similar position, pre-purchase. Im simply putting this comment here in hopes it puts the topic in a higher traffiked area

Unfortunately, this is the least active F3x forum around (although BMWCCA's is lower usage). Check the bimmerfest and f30post forums.

Don't blame "all" newer cars. I've had numerous other cars with nav systems, and other modern active safety features. Never had a failure under any of those cars...did I mention those other cars were all Japanese?

I'm still under my CPO warranty, and I've had no electronics issues with my BMW either.

Bimmerfest and Bimmerpost are much better BMW owner's forums to subscribe to. This one is low traffic.
