Hello Gruppe,
Along the same vein as leden’s thread, I’m looking for my old 323i that I enjoyed back in the eighties. It’s a 1981, that I bought in 1984 and owned for more than ten years. The gentleman I sold it to here owned for a couple of years then sold it to a gentleman for a father/son(?)project in the southeast (possibly Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi?).
I’m sure the car doesn’t look like these photos anymore (the rear deck spoiler is gone and all the trim/ bumpers were blacked out), but perhaps someone from that area my recognize it. I’m curious to see what ever happened to it and possibly rescue it...if it’s still with us.
1981 323i VIN WBAAH3101B7239657...Thank you in advance, please feel free to PM me on what (if anything) you find.
All the best,
Bill
Dang, gorgeous car! I hope you find it.

Thank you, I do too...
Can you do a vin check with dmv in those three states? Might show up the current owner.

Very nice, great looking car. Best of luck in your search.
I see if there a link to researching the DMV’s of those states...I’m not very optimistic though. Thank you Leiden, I’d be very surprised if it even remotely looks like those pictures, but I’m interested regardless the condition...
GL w/ the search!
I was thinking you could go down to your local dmv and ask them for help. I did that once and they were very helpful..
They will not give out names and address but they will tell you if the car is in the national database.
Jiust an idea

I did perform a basic VIN search, it is in Georgia, and it’s currently insured. Other than that I don’t have any other information
Looks like it is wearing Hardy and Beck wheels in that picture, and is parked in the lot of the 4th street shop?
Did you buy it from Richard Griffith? Was it brought in and legalized by Hardy&Beck?
I do not know it's whereabouts, but I wish you luck in finding it.
Jeff
