hey guys i have a 95 e36 with a ford 5.0v8 engine swap my problem right now is my gas gauge doesn't work. i have read other posts about this having 2 fuel pumps or sending units and people say to switch it to 1? i dont understand how to do that or what parts i need.... i dont want to use the stock gauges or anything. so my question is how can i setup an aftermarket gauge to work all i need is to tell me the levels i dont need any other gauge to work. Please if anyone can give me detailed instructions. Thank you

Yeah, it has two level senders one for each side of the tank. One sender would not be accurate at all. I don't remember how its wires, if they are just in series?

They are wired in series, so the resistance is added between them to indicate the level. The range is odd for most aftermarket fuel gauges there are however programmable ones that as long as their programming range is larger than the BMW sending units would work.
